    My First PC build

I'm on a mini vacation from the cheating scene.

Reason is because I'm in process of a new pc build.

A few people are helping me find the right parts.
But I want your opinion as to what I should/would get.
As I see it, ( my first build mind you ) I can do this for under $600.

    Case
    Motherboard - Intel based
    CPU - Intel
    Heatsink/Heatsink Fan
    Power Supply
    Opitical Drive
    Hard Drive
    RAM
    Speakers
    LCD monitor

What would be a good choice for these?

    No, what started this is...
A friend of mine gave me his 7900gt because he now has a 9800GTS ( or soemthing ), along w/ 667 Ram (2x1gb)... Sooo
in order to play w/ the vid card, I need to build a new pc ( this one is shitty
Old Dell Dimension; P4 2.8 2 gig 5200 RAM, Nvidia 5200 vid card; Creative Sound, 17 CRT...
so getting a new system helps.

Keep it coming guys, I'll begin ordering soon w/ your suggestions.

Well, sir.. if new egg is so good for parts, why is it I just beat them in price at other places, with the same pc parts.

For instance, pspforever stated that a 600Watt Power Supply costs $70,
but I just have now the same wattage power supply for $53.
The same RAM he posted from NewEgg, I found cheaper somewhere else.

NewEgg, its where everyone goes, so they can up the price just a bit. Whereas theres the same product, but for less at other places.

and other smaller accessories for me to think over later.
I'm really leaning to the 1TB My Book Home Edition.
IF.. I can't get it ( it's ebay'n for about $120), then my next choice is the 500GB internal. Or a 500GB external next.

So, how's this look? Its under $500, I basically used different lists people offered and did my own price comparisons.

lol my graphics card alone costs more than 600 rifk

Hey, you're probably going to want atleast an 8800GT, an 8800GT would be the best video card for the price you need that can handle good DX10 games.

Also, I think you're missing an OS?
    :P
